Refund & Cancellation Policy
Plain English: how billing, cancellation and refunds work at NoticeDesk, including your statutory rights and how our payment provider handles refunds.
Last updated: 9 October 2026
Try before you buy: the free trial
Bronze and Silver plans start with a 7-day free trial. You are not charged until the trial ends; cancel any time during it and you will never be billed. Gold and Scale plans do not include a trial: your first payment is taken at checkout, and it is protected by the 14-day refund window below, so you can still change your mind after seeing the product with your own invoices.
Who you pay, and who handles refunds
Payments and subscriptions are processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd), our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record. When you buy a NoticeDesk plan, top-up pack or seat, your contract for that purchase is with Paddle, and Paddle's Refund Policy and Buyer Terms apply alongside this page. Refunds are issued through Paddle to your original payment method. This policy explains how we (NoticeDesk) will treat refund requests; Paddle administers them.
Cancelling a subscription
- You can cancel at any time from Plan & billing → Manage billing in the app, which opens your Paddle billing portal, or by emailing [email protected].
- When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for: you keep access and any remaining credits until then. You are not charged again.
- There is nothing to "use up or lose" by cancelling immediately: cancelling stops the next renewal, it does not end your current paid period early.
Changed your mind? 14 days, any purchase
If a purchase turns out not to be right for you, you can request a full refund within 14 days of being charged. This covers every purchase you make from us: your first subscription payment, a renewal, a top-up credit pack and the Extra Seat add-on alike. You don't need to give a reason. On a plan with a free trial, the 14 days run from the first charge when the trial ends, not from the day you signed up.
Refunds are issued to your original payment method. A refund ends the access it paid for: if we refund a subscription payment we cancel the subscription at the same time, so you aren't billed again and the paid features stop. If we refund a top-up pack, any credits still unused from it stop being available. If we refund the charge for moving up a plan, your subscription carries on and returns to your previous plan at your next renewal. If we refund an Extra Seat, we remove that seat from your subscription before your next renewal, so it is not billed again.
Our 14-day promise applies to every customer; consumers buying outside a trade or business also have a statutory right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, nothing here reduces any statutory right you have, and where our policy is more generous the more generous term applies.
Fair use of this policy
The 14-day window is there for genuine changes of mind, and we apply it in good faith. In line with Paddle's own refund policy, refunds are not issued where there is evidence of fraud, refund abuse, or other manipulative behaviour, such as repeatedly buying and refunding the same purchase across accounts. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.
Renewals
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Renewal payments are covered by the same 14-day window above, so if a renewal catches you out, ask us and we'll arrange the refund with Paddle.
Top-up credit packs
Top-up packs are covered by the same 14-day window above. If a refund is issued, any credits remaining from that pack end with it.
Worth knowing before you buy a smaller pack than you need: top-up credits roll over for 90 days from purchase and are drawn only after your monthly plan credits, so they aren't wasted if you don't use them straight away.
Extra seats
The Extra Seat add-on (£7/month per seat, plus VAT) is billed as part of your subscription and is covered by the same 14-day window above. To remove a seat, email [email protected]; billing for it stops from the next renewal.
If something went wrong on our side
The 14-day window above is your right to change your mind, and it stands on its own. Separately from it, if something genuinely went wrong, tell us and we'll put right what we can. For example:
- you were charged twice, or charged after cancelling;
- a defect in NoticeDesk prevented you from using the service you paid for;
- you were billed in error.
Your statutory rights in these situations are unaffected by the 14-day window, and are set out below.
How to request a refund or cancel
Cancel a subscription yourself from Plan & billing → Manage billing (your Paddle billing portal), or contact us for anything else:
- Request it directly from Paddle, who handle billing for us, at paddle.net: look up your purchase with the email address you bought with, or use the receipt email Paddle sent you.
- Or email [email protected] with the account email and what you'd like to happen, and we'll arrange it with Paddle. We aim to reply within one business day.
Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method, normally within 14 days of approval.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy affects your legal rights as a consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Where this policy is more generous than the law requires, the more generous term applies.
